Independent filmmakers or small production compani Independent filmmakers or small production companies can navigate the public broadcasting system (PBS) to distribute their films - but how, exactly? Join us via Zoom Tuesday, Oct. 6 at 6:30 p.m. ET to learn more about national and station-by-station distribution from public broadcasting professionals.

In this program, PBS experts Devin Karambelas and Robyn De Shields share their insights into scheduling, funding, station relations, and the challenges of "one-off" program broadcasting. Devin is the Vice President of TV Programming and Operations at WETA, DC's flagship PBS station and a national producer of programming for PBS.  Robyn is a public television marketing and event management consultant with over 30 years of experience in strategic marketing management, campaign development, promotion, and more. She is also founder of the marketing firm De Shields Associates Inc.

Calling all screenwriters! Join us via Zoom Sep. 2 Calling all screenwriters! Join us via Zoom Sep. 28 at 6:30 p.m. for our Screenwriters Roundtable: First Five Page Readings. Our Screenwriters Roundtables provide a safe place for new and established writers to have their work read and critiqued. We also features special guest speakers when available.

The week before each meeting, we put out a call for submissions of your scripts' first five pages, selecting the first several submissions for a table read. Roundtable selections receive readings by actors and constructive criticism from attendees. If you'd like your script to be considered for our next roundtable, email director@wifv.org to be added to our listserv!

Attendance is free for WIFV members and $15 for the public. Register at wifv.org/calendar!
