5:00 PM  Randy Goldman Scholarship Deadline

The Randy Goldman Fund Scholarship is named after former WIFV president, Randy Goldman. WIFV offers this scholarship as a way to honor Randy and her creative vision, passion for education, and commitment to the larger film community. The scholarship enables women in the film community to continue their professional development throughout their careers.

The Randy Goldman Fund Scholarship is a partnership of WIFV and The Maine Media Workshops of Rockport, Maine. The Workshops generously match WIFV’s contribution by donating fees and services. The scholarship, which totals $2,500 in funds and fee waivers, allows the winner to experience one of the nation’s premiere film, video and digital educational programs with full tuition, room and board and travel.

The Randy Goldman Fund Scholarship committee selects the winner from a competitive group of submissions. The committee, which is comprised of WIFV Past Presidents, selects the candidate who, in the tradition of Randy Goldman, will continue to tell the stories that need telling.

The Process: Complete the form at www.wifv.org, write an essay of up to 250 words addressing why you should receive the 2010 scholarship. Do NOT include your name or any other identifying information on the essay sheet. Submissions will be evaluated anonymously.

Send the completed form and two (2) copies of your essay to the WIFV office, postmarked no later than September 15, 2010. Materials may also be emailed to director@wifv.org.

The essays will be evaluated by a group of no less than five (5) past presidents. The recipient will be notified individually by October 13, 2010. The recipient must agree to complete their course at The Workshops by the end of October 2011.

For more information about the scholarship call 202-429-9438.
