Women in Film & Television International is a network of chapters that totals more than 10,000 dynamic professionals who represent every aspect of the industry from producers and directors to accountants and lawyers and from camera and sound technicians to actors and animators.
Each chapter of WIFTI is run independently; however, each member of WIFV is automatically a member of WIFTI. WIFV encourages its members to take advantage of all the benefits that WIFTI has to offer.
Member Chapters WIFT International has 40 member chapters around the world. Members planning to work in another state or country with a participating WIF chapter are eligible to attend that chapter’s activities for a three-month period. The current roster of chapters is available here.
International Networking Opportunities All WIFV members are invited to WIFTI networking receptions at international film festivals and markets (e.g., Berlin, Cannes, MIPCOM, Sundance).
WIFT International Biennial Summit The Summit is a unique opportunity for members all over the globe to network, share ideas on chapter development and explore co-production opportunities. Workshops from the 2007 WIFTI Summit held in Toronto are available as streaming media at http://wift.insinc.com/.
WIFT International Online Membership Directory WIFV members have a complimentary listing in, and access to, the WIFTI Online Membership Directory. The directory allows WIFV members to connect with fellow Women in Film and Television members around the world. Searches may be performed in a number of ways, including by name, chapter, occupation, and even languages spoken.
Dual Membership WIFV has an agreement with New York WIFT to offer dual membership to our members at a substantially reduced rate. Any executive member in good standing with WIFV of Washington, D.C. may join NYIFT for an additional $75.
WIFTI Liaison WIFV maintains a relationship with the international chapters through with a Board level WIFTI Liaison. Representatives from WIFV-DC to the international organization have included: Meg Villarreal, Marisa Arbona Ruiz, Doreen Blunt, Talaya Grimes and Rouane Itani.
