THE LAST BATTLEFRONT: Quest for the Vote in Washington, D.C. directed by Anna Reid Jhirad has been selected to screen at The Women’s Film Festival in Philadelphia, August 18-28, 2022. The film will screen on Thursday, August 25th at 8pm. More info and tickets here.
DC is one of the only capitals in the world where its citizens have no representation in the national legislature and where federal authorities routinely intrude on the local government. The film looks at four turning points in the history of Washington, DC to understand how this happened and to show the struggles of DC residents to gain basic rights of self-government that other Americans enjoy.
