There are many reasons for joining WIFV so do it today!

Join a community of 900+ Media Professionals. As a member you can easily network with more than 900 professionals from the film, television, video and related screen-based media industries. Forge new relationships with the people who can make a difference in your career. WIFV members can choose to be listed in the online WIFV member directory. WIFV members are automatically affiliated with Women in Film and Television International (WIFTI) and Women in Film and Television-US (WIFT-US). Benefits of these affiliations include an international directory, national crew list, virtual programming, three-month visiting memberships, and dual memberships with selected chapters.

Enjoy WIFV benefits. WIFV offers a wide range of member discounts and movie passes to special screenings and premieres in town. Your membership also gives you reduced admission to a wide range of educational programs, workshops, and scholarship opportunities. All members receive the WIFV e-newsletter, WIFV listserv, and have access to the Member-Only area of our website for exclusive announcements and member discounts (just login to access this page under the Membership tab above). This is the best way to stay on top of what is happening in our organization and industry.

Discover new opportunities.  With your WIFV membership, you will receive free or reduced admission to nearly 90 events each year, including educational panels, discussions, workshops, seminars, screenings and special events. WIFV Roundtable Groups allow members to connect in a more meaningful way with each other around special interests, location or member type. WIFV hosts Media Job Fair that connects applicants with companies who are hiring in our area and results in new hires every year.  The Member-only listserv includes job postings, grant deadlines, festival info, and technical advice – it’s like having a 900-person back office.

Face the challenge.  Being a member of WIFV gives you a voice. As an advocate for gender parity in media in front of and behind the camera, you can weigh in on issues facing our industry and make a difference. WIFV has six regular committees and several subcommittees you can join to help with our strategic planning and event provision.  Committee descriptions are here.

Reach out to the community.  Go to the WIFV YouTube channel to viewPSAs from the WIFV Image Makers program.  The Kids World Film Festival volunteers visit fifth-grade classrooms to provide media literacy training and then empowers the students to be critical thinkers at a shorts film festival.

  1. Download application here and mail it in with your payment or scan it to membership@wifv.org and we will call you for credit card payment.
  2. Sign up online.
  3. Call the WIFV Office (202-429-9438) to have an application sent to you.
  4. Attend an event and fill out an application on site, plus receive member price for the event.
  5. Stop by the WIFV Office to fill out the application.
